Goal: Investigate licensing of shelter that allegedly neglects and mishandles animals under its care.

Protests mounted, drawing national attention, as the planned death date of a Pennsylvania shelter dog neared. Community members, current and former volunteers at the Humane Society of Harrisburg, and even lawmakers urged the society to reverse its decision to euthanize Pursuit, its longest-standing canine. As the hour drew closer, word emerged that a volunteer had removed Pursuit from the shelter. A theft complaint was reportedly filed by the humane society a short time later. In the end, this animal’s life was saved, but his plight highlights what employees apparently say are still-lingering problems within the shelter.

29 Species Have Recovered Enough in Australia to be Taken Off Endangered List–a Milestone for Celebration

A large research project studying endangered species in Australia has tallied 29 recovered species—all animals that can be safely de-listed from the country’s endangered species list.

Australia’s Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act currently lists 446 species of animals in genuine need of protection, but 29 of those are no longer in need—15 mammals, 8 birds, 4 frogs, a reptile, and a fish.

Among these critters are the golden, Western barred, and Eastern barred bandicoots, Western quoll, sooty albatross, waterfall frog, Flinder’s Range worm-lizard, yellow-footed rock wallabies, greater bilby, humpback whale, growling grass frog, Murray’s cod, and others.

Rare Species of Feline Dubbed the ‘Original Grumpy Cat’ Found Living On Mount Everest

DNA analysis confirmed that the rare and little-known Pallas’ cat lives on the body of Mount Everest—three miles above sea level.

The discovery was made along Sagarmatha National Park on Mount Everest’s Southern Flank in Nepal after a month-long expedition collecting environmental samples.

Manatees in Florida are dying off at record rates. More than 20% of the manatees—close to 2,000—have perished in the past two years.
More than 740 manatees died just last year, following a catastrophic 2021 for these gentle giants, when more than 1,100 perished. 
These animals are starving to death due to loss of seagrass, and swimming through some of the worst pollution they’ve ever known. 
Manatees are currently listed as “threatened,” but it’s clear they urgently need the full power of the Endangered Species Act.  
Tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to uplist Florida’s manatees to “endangered” to guarantee their survival.

Bill Banning Sale of Kangaroo Parts Introduced in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A bill that would ban the sale of kangaroo parts has been introduced in the Oregon Legislature, taking aim at sports apparel manufacturers that use leather from the animals to make their products.

Soccer cleats are one of the only products made from kangaroo leather that are routinely sold in Oregon, KLCC reported. The measure would impact Nike, which is based in Oregon and the state’s largest employer.

Reward Grows to $25K in Nevada Probe of 5 Wild Horse Deaths

ELY, Nev. (AP) — The reward has grown to $25,000 in the investigation of the shooting deaths of five wild horses in eastern Nevada more than a year ago, the Bureau of Land Management said Tuesday.

The five mortally wounded horses were discovered Nov. 16, 2021 in Jakes Valley, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Ely.

Wealthy Corporations – It’s too time-consuming and expensive to switch over.

Sane People – And yet in the long run you will actually make more money when everything is said and done. Spend a Little to make a lot. Not to mention the notoriety that comes with it.

I’m sorry, yet it is. Look around, we should be way ahead of the industrial/digital age. With alternatives in medicine, advanced science and perhaps a cure for practically every disease, known to man. It shouldn’t be like this, right now. Where we are still using fossil fuels to get from A to B. Where we have no cure for Diabetes, Cancer and many other illnesses. Where People don’t die from the flu, common cold or even COVID-SARS.

We should be at the point, where we can CLONE, human body parts to save lives. We should be at the point, where even the common man and woman, have access to adequate health care and child care. Where no one is left behind, or treated unfairly and unjust. Where there is no Rich VS Poor because everyone would have equal equity.

Yet HERE WE ARE. In a present-day dystopia.

The planet is literally on FIRE!!! You have caps melting at a higher rate, and whales and dolphins beaching themselves. More Fish dying from red tides, and less Salt in the OCEAN. Birds flocking, south earlier and earlier, and Sharks coming closer to the shores. While Sea Turtles only give birth to one gender of offspring. More severe storms, earthquakes and VOLCANIC activity. Or the fact that we have Viruses Mutating at an excessive rate.

How is this not MAKING Them WAKE UP? How is this not making these people want CHANGE? Make this Make sense. It’s the mad mad world we live in. Idiocracy.

Documents he took

I’m going to try and lay down some common sense for a lot of people out there. Because it surely is lacking.

No other President took classified or declassified documents out of office. Each president has to go through the process of declassification of the documents. The process is then made on record. Trump did not go through this process. Therefore It was not fully declassified.

If he did absolutely nothing wrong, the warrant would not have made the table and then become approved, by a judge. The FBI are not required to tell the public what the documents are. That’s between them, the judge and any lawyer that may become involved.

The populace has no rights to know anything here. Especially, when it comes to classified documents, that could endanger the country. All documents are supposed to go to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Not to an ex-Presidents residence.

These are facts not alternative information. Just because you don’t like these facts, doesn’t make it any less true.

I’m all for truth, I’m also 100% behind laws being followed. He was repeatedly asked for the return of the documents for months. He refused and hid behind, his followers and lawyers.

He incited violence AGAIN. Which caused followers to shoot up an FBI office. Causing a casualty.

How is this okay? Let them do their job. If Trump is innocent, they can prove that via court trials. If he’s guilty then he’s guilty.

300 documents were taken. None of which were properly declassified. This is a crime with a prison sentence of 20 years to life. No one is above the law of this country. Not even the POTUS or ex-POTUS.

If these people were truly “patriotic” as they claim. They would be disgusted by the actions of the very person, they voted for.

Sunoco Convicted Of Environmental Crimes Over Mariner East 2 Pipeline | Patch

HARRISBURG, PA — Sunoco has been convicted of environmental crimes in Pennsylvania after construction of its Mariner East 2 Pipeline repeatedly ravaged sensitive ecosystems around southeastern Pennsylvania and damaged drinking water. On several occassions, Sunoco failed to report spills or take required precautions to prevent incidents from occurring, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office said.

Mariner East 2 aims to transport Marcellus shale natural gas from western Pennsylvania and Ohio to Marcus Hook, on the Delaware River. The pipelines pass through 17 counties across southern Pennsylvania, including in the densely populated Philadelphia suburbs, where safety issues and water pollution impacted thousands.

“We have a constitutional right in Pennsylvania to clean air and pure water,” Attorney General Josh Shapiro said in a statement. “It’s a right that was enshrined in our state constitution at a time when the people of Pennsylvania learned a tough lesson first-hand — the health of our children, and our economic future, depended on protecting our environment from reckless profit and unchecked corporate interests.”

Record Heat Means Only Female Sea Turtles Are Hatching in Florida

“Scientists that are studying sea turtle hatchlings and eggs have found no boy sea turtles, so only female sea turtles for the past four years,” Zirkelbach told Reuters.

The discovery is not limited to Florida. Zirkelbach told the news organization that researchers in Australia have also documented similar findings, with an estimated 99% of the country’s turtles born female over the past few years.
