Formula shortages: Options

The reason is the hundreds of recalls in February and the lack of production of it now. Many parents are finding it difficult to come up with solutions.

During my time in Texas there was a period of formula shortages due to bulk buying during hurricane Harvey. (In the area I was in) and I wasn’t able to travel far.

And seeing as my kid is lactose intolerant it was double difficult to find a solution, since breastfeeding was out of the question, due to my medication (insulin and Lexapro).

I then called my mother and asked what she did during the shortage in the 80s.

Quite simply put. She used evaporated milk. Until I turned age one. Then she switched over to cows milk, where she would boil it down and skimmed off the top skin.

Again my kid is lactose intolerant. So that wasn’t an option. However, I am writing this for those who have kids who can drink regular milk products.

Use evaporated milk in a can as a substitute. Or breastfeed if you can. If your child is age one and up boil the regular milk, before giving it to your kids.

Lactose intolerant milk lactaid at age one. Before that it’s soy, almond, cashew, and coconut. That’s what my pediatrician suggested.

DO NOT MAKE YOUR OWN FORMULA. There’s risks, very dangerous risks. Unforeseen illness or allergies and even Deaths.

These options may not work for you, and I encourage parents to talk with their pediatrician about these options, BEFORE, trying them. Because each baby/child is different. Just know there are options out there.

(Note I do Not agree with using any dairy products as it’s theft from the calf. However, during dire circumstances, such as shortage, one must do what they have to.)

Winter Weather and Animals

We have winter weather this year that has been causing degrees to drop in the lows of 6. That alone should be common sense enough to bring your animals inside.

However, common sense in this Era seems to be a rarity. People are being stupid and leaving their companions outside all night.

This leads to severe consequences. Hyperthermia, and death. You NEED TO BRING THEM INSIDE OR have an environmentally controlled habitat for them. Meaning a structure with heat and A.C for the summer time.

Bring them inside don’t let them die of hostile exposure.

We also must be vigilant when starting our cars. Stray animals find your car warm and will huddle up inside a tire well or engine. Before turning on your car, check your car.

Bang or open the hood, tap or check your tire wells, if you should find an animal and they refuse to come out. Call Animal Control. Do not attempt to remove the animal without proper equipment.

Which consists of gloves (work tough gloves) blankets and or towels, And a crate. Along with wet food and water. (And animal formula on hand.

always check your cars. Even if it’s not that cold or hot, check your car.

Cats Need Claws: Petition

About 2 years ago, I created a petition, to get the barbaric declawing of cats abolished. I have been in talks with my representative and as many know, that representative has been stonewalling me. Saying things like we can’t put that on the docket right now, or not enough people are interested in said petition. yet over the years, the petition has accumulated 3,999 signatures. If it reaches 5,000 according to Change.Org, the petition could get media attention. (Not that I want or need that kind of attention, yet if it helps get this barbarity abolished so be it.)

With that being said, I will continue to push this issue, no matter how many times I may get stonewalled, or even ignored by the local Legislator. In addition, if I have to expand our petition to “All 50 States”. I will.

Therefore, I am asking once again for people to sign and share widely. So we can make this goal. Of getting declawing abolished for good.

Cats need claws since they cannot live a normal life without them. It’s like cutting off your knuckles, and I’m pretty sure a lot of people would be out of work if their knuckles, let alone their hands were all mangled. Cats have Jobs too, in fact, many Cats are Barn Cats, and their job is keeping rodents away from crops and feed. Then those who have cats as companions, also use them to keep rodents out of the house. And as much as I do love all animals including the little rodents, they cannot be in a person’s household, since they can spread illness and fleas. I allow my cats to track the mice, and I immediately place a humane trap, lined with peanut butter, cheese or veggies in front of where they may come in. I transport these mice to a faraway, field after they go into the traps. Now, I could not do this without my cats, and they would not be able to track without their claws.

And I’ll tell you why because if they were declawed, their mental status would be changed. They would be more focused on their paws, they would “shake” their paws with each step they took and they would lose balance. If they were declawed.

I’ve seen this too many times at the vet office I visit. These cats that have been declawed, act differently, the reason being is they are in pain, and with each step, it is completely painful.

However, I must state this, the Vet office I visit is completely against declawing. The cats that come in had it done elsewhere, and the Vets there are constantly explaining to these owners why their cats are acting out of the ordinary. There is NO REVERSAL for declawing, once done that’s it. Damage is done.

So yes, there are vets out there who will do this barbaric act of mutilation and not think twice. And these are the places that need restrictions and why I want to have this practice of declawing abolished.

Cats need their claws for more than just hunting and their job as rodent stoppers. They need their claws for Stretching, being able to grip is essential to them. Climbing to get away from others or an overly playful pup/dog. They need their claws for protection, because there is no guarantee you can keep your cat in doors 24/7. Trust me I know they are little escape artists/ninjas. And the last thing they need their claws for, is balance, yes balance. Tails can only help for so long when it comes to balance, yet their claws. When a cat is declawed, it’s not at all like clipping nails. Declawing is amputating the claw and related bone and muscle tissue. Without their claws, cats often have trouble balancing, with each step.

Pipeline Spilling 300,000 Gallons Kills Fish and Other Animals.

On Dec 27, 2021, in New Orleans a pipe bursts and spills 300,000 Gallons into two artificially made ponds. Killing Fish, Birds. and other wildlife. According to the State and Local Official, a majority of the fuel was recovered.

Yet that’s not the point is it? Animal Life was lost due to yet, another pipeline burst.

According to the pipeline owner. The spill from the 16-inch-diameter line operated by Collins Pipeline Co. was discovered on Dec. 27 near a levee in St. Bernard Parish, just east of New Orleans, according to documents from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

An inspection of the 42-year-old Meraux Pipeline more than a year earlier, in October 2020, revealed external corrosion along a 22-foot section of pipe in the same area as the spill. But repairs were delayed and the line continued operating after a subsequent inspection indicated the corrosion was not bad enough to require work immediately under federal regulations, according to the pipeline agency.

Let me remind the people of how serious Corrosion is when it comes to pipelines. Or how dangerous it is when ship hauls are weak.

On July 25, Japanese ship MV Wakashio struck a coral reef on the southeast coast of Mauritius, spilling thousands of tons of fuel into the ocean. Soon the crystal-clear water turned black, triggering an environmental catastrophe.

The New Orleans spilled fuel also contaminated soil in an environmentally sensitive area near the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, a closed canal, according to state and federal officials. A small amount of diesel remains in the two borrow pits, said Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality spokesman Gregory Langley.

Fuel Companies like BP and Collins do not care about the environment, they are killing everything slowly, and for what? GREED!

If Fuel Companies cannot stick to protocols and safety management, then what’s the point of even having a pipeline? Why not just spill it completely and kill everything right now instead of slowly. Get it over with, and by the time you want to collect that cash, you’ll have no customer base.

This is exactly one of the most important reasons why the majority of advocates are speaking up for NEW SOURCES of CLEAN FUEL. I understand switching from OIL to either Hydro, Corn, or Wind power is expensive. However, in the long run, it is worth it. You would be producing more jobs, truckers would be able to safely transport the water, corn oil, and or wind turbines. Companies would be able to make money from a cleaner fuel source. Everyone would win in this scenario.

Because you can’t get sick off of Corn Oil, Water/Hydro, or even Wind. The fact that companies say there is no money in cleaner fuel sources, is hyperbolic. The electric fuel source for cars – they’re making the figures to keep them around. To be fair the majority of people actually want a cleaner way of life, which is why many have switched to “Solar Power” and “Electric Cars”.

Besides that, these Oil Companies have Nearly Depleted these fossil fuels, there really isn’t much left. And this is also why gas prices have risen. Supply and Demand. It’s time to switch to a cleaner source of fuel.

This year should be the year where companies switch. It’s 2022 we should be more advanced by now. We should be on the cleaner path, we only have one planet, there is no escape when this planet dies off completely. Look at Mars for that example.

Holidays and Companions

With the holidays coming upon us once again, and as such, I think it is necessary to remind guardians of their responsibility to keep their companions safe. With Thanksgiving meals, it’s wise not to give your companion any “turkey or chicken” bones. These items can splinter off and cause lacerations in your companion’s throat and stomach. Or will not pass through their intestine tract, causing severe blockages.

When it comes to Pumpkin pie, no companion animal should have any because it’s filled with sugar, which can cause stomach issues. However, if you want your companion to enjoy the holidays with you, there are plenty of safe food recipes for your companions to try.

Firework safety, like with July 4th, you need to be prepared to handle the noise and anxiety your pet may be dealing with at the time. New Year’s Eve does become hectic. Just as July 4th. Companions tend to run off when they become frightened due to the loud noises the fireworks produce. If your companion is a skittish sort, it’s wise to have them inside the house during the commotion. Put music on, have their favorite toy, blanket, or pet bed in the same room with them. If you have a thunder jacket, allow them to wear it for comfort. Any distraction from the loud noises will help keep your companion calm and safe.

As a person who was in the vet field, I have come across many companions animals where they were injured due to foods they weren’t allowed to have. Or where they were found, wandering the streets, because they ran from the fireworks. As guardians, we must take precautions every day, to keep our companions safe. Otherwise, we’re just setting them up for failure.

Lanternfly population continues to grow

At first glance, the adult lanternfly is a beautiful spectacle with spotted, bright red wings and a little bumble bee-esque body. But as the species continues its trek across the U.S., federal and state officials have a unified message: If you come across the insect, kill it. 

The lanternfly is an invasive species from China that wreaks havoc on agriculture. They aren’t physically harmful to humans, but they threaten everything from oak, walnut and poplar trees to grapes, almonds and fruit orchards. It was first detected in the U.S. in Pennsylvania in 2014, but it has now spread to at least nine states, primarily in the Northeast. Growing numbers have been spotted in New York City this summer.

Although we value all life here at Guardians Of Life. This specific insect is causing havoc with the ecosystem.

Therefore we urge people to follow the request officials have put forth. Otherwise, a majority of food source as well as habitat for animals and people will be diminished.

We also urge businesses who use overseas transports to examine their cargo before allowing their shipments to come through, in order to lessen the access of Lanternflys.

Crafting For The Homeless

With colder weather coming soon. If you have a hobby like knitting, crocheting or tailoring or quilting. Many people have become homeless due to the pandemic. They’ll need Scarves, hats, gloves, blankets and warm clothing.

They’re struggling to provide for themselves and family.

Help them by making these items and donating to Goodwill, Salvation Army, food pantries. Or directly to the homeless shelters in your areas.

There are tons of free crocheting, knitting, tailoring and quilting patterns on the web and Pinterest and Even Instagram.

When donating food it must be shelf stable. Something that will last awhile. Non-perishables.

It may not be much yet every little bit helps.

Facts: Immune System and VACCINE

The immune system is a complex unit, where there are different cells that fight off infection, this is a known fact. However, your immune system, is not capable of completely fighting off viruses it has never encountered before, such as COVID19 and it’s variants.

Back in the day, with other viruses such as Smallpox, chicken pox, whooping cough, mumps, measles and so on. People weren’t aware of the testing that went behind all of it. Nor were they aware of the precautions that were taken to prevent the spread either. Because there was NO SOCIAL MEDIA outlet to share the trials and triumphs. I did some digging and asked a couple of folks who actually went through these procedures of “Masking” or distancing from others. They did all that, just as we have to do now with covid19 and the variants.

How your immune system functions:
Virally infected cells produce and release small proteins called interferons, which play a role in immune protection against viruses. Interferons prevent replication of viruses, by directly interfering with their ability to replicate within an infected cell. A special cell of the immune system called a T cell circulates looking for infections. One type of T cell is called a cytotoxic T cell because it kills cells that are infected with viruses with toxic mediators. Cytotoxic T cells have specialized proteins on their surface that help them to recognize virally-infected cells. These proteins are called T cell receptors (TCRs). Each cytotoxic T cell has a TCR that can specifically recognize a particular antigenic peptide bound to an MHC molecule. If the T cell receptor detects a peptide from a virus, it warns its T cell of an infection. The T cell releases cytotoxic factors to kill the infected cell and, therefore, prevent survival of the invading virus.

However, many Viruses are highly adaptable, and have developed ways to avoid detection by T cells. Some viruses stop MHC molecules from getting to the cell surface to display viral peptides. If this happens, the T cell doesn’t know there’s a virus inside the infected cell.

This is how COVID19 works, it’s adaptable and it mutates. Which is why a Vaccine was needed to help the “immune system” recognize and attack the virus cells. This is common bio-sci 101 and it is taught in Science/Biology class, as early as middle/high school.

So why is it, people are being ignorant to these facts? I really don’t understand how people can play this off as the “common cold”, or “flu”. COVID19 and it’s variants are nothing like the common cold or flu. It’s highly dangerous, it sneaks in, it’s undetected for weeks and then it just hits you hard. Children have died from COVID, Elderly and young adults have died from COVID.

However, a majority of these news articles of child death of COVID19 and Variants have been buried by Republican lies, and Qanon misinformation campaign. The more people listen or even read misinformation, the more people will become susceptible to COVID19 and the Variants. The more that this happens, the less we will have the chance at HERD IMMUNITY.

Furthermore, The vaccines has no microchips, and it doesn’t make you infertile. These are Alt-Facts created by the Qanon party. Bill Gats did not create any such thing to keep track of you. If the Government really wanted to keep track of you, all you need to do is look at your PHONE, COMPUTER, and SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS. They don’t need a “microchip” to do it.

Blood clots – Very Rare, and has only happened so far in 1 of 5 vaccinated people.
Rashes – again very rare, and has not happened as of late.

These very rare side effects have to do with an underlining condition, of having either high blood pressure or pre-blood clots. Rashes have occurred due to allergies and an underlying condition of skin infections.

CDC recommends people with an immunocompromised system, to take either Moderna or Pfizer and not Johnson and Johnson. Since J&J uses a “dead” virus for their vaccine. Which makes it harder for those immunocompromised to be able to fight and form antibodies against COVID19.

I took J&J, and I have a very weak immune system. Due to the fact that I took J&J, I was laid out for a month. I felt, weak, and fluish. It did not feel great at all. And even though I felt like I got hit by a semi-truck, I was and am glad I got Vaccinated. Because I don’t have to worry as much when I am out in the public setting. Yes it took longer for my immune system to bounce back and make those antibodies, but it got done. I have had no other “side effects” since than. No Blood Clots, and No Rashes.

Do your research, ask the experts. Get Vaccinated (Or don’t, but please, just wear your MASK and Social Distance. Just stop putting others lives in danger because you are about you and not about Humanity as a whole.

Facts About Greek Yogurt

Greek Yogurt, popular among many people yet consequential effects on the environment and dairy animal lives. Its a plight to the rights and welfare of the animal and human life. You may think it’s a healthy snack, yet in reality, it is not.
With information at the fingertips, it’s not difficult to find out what Greek Yogurt is made of. Most of the ingredients are downright disgusting and even barbaric.

As with many yogurts, a majority of Greek varieties add gelatin, which is made by boiling animals’ skin, tendons, ligaments, or bones. A majority have also added carmine to make the yogurt appear to contain more fruit than it does.

What is Carmine? Carmine is a dye that’s found in some food products to create a red color. The food colorant is also called cochineal extract, which comes from the insect species Dactylopius coccus Costa.

These cochineal bugs used to harvest carmine are mainly harvested in Peru and the Canary Islands, where the insects live on prickly pear cacti. Carmine uses dates back to the 1500s when the Aztecs used these insects to dye fabrics. You may understand the use of insects to make dyes back when resources were limited, but what’s the purpose of carmine food dye today? The main purpose is to make packaged foods appear more vibrant. So you may wonder: Is it really necessary to kill thousands and thousands of insects just so our foods appear redder?

The red dye is used in a range of food and cosmetic products, including:
Candy
Ice cream
Children’s snacks
Cake mix
Juices
Burgers
Sausages
Yogurt
Lipsticks
Eyeshadows
Shampoos
Lotions
Pill coatings
Indigo Carmine is another type of dye that’s also made with carminic acid, but it does not derive from cochineal insects.

Other reasons to avoid a majority of Greek and Regular “Dairy” Yogurt –
Dairy yogurt is made from cows or other animal milk. Just as with human mothers, cows produce milk only when they’re pregnant and nursing. A majority of Dairy farms repeatedly impregnate mother cows. A majority of dairy farmers take the animals’ newborn babies away and then steal the milk that was meant for them. Selling it for a profit to make said yogurts. Profiting off of animal suffering.

Environmental and other Hazards
For every ounce of Greek yogurt, companies are producing 2 to 3 ounces of acid whey, a coproduct that can’t simply be dumped or tossed, because it would be toxic to the environment. In 2016 alone, it’s estimated that the United States produced more than 150 million gallons of acid whey. So what are companies doing with it all? They’re paying animal-agriculture operations to take it off their hands and mix it into fertilizer and animals’ food. One major Greek yogurt maker stated that more than 70 percent of its acid whey ends up in food for farmed animals, meaning, that even the animal agriculture industry, beyond even dairy farms, is profiting from Greek yogurt. Whilst not only destroying the environment, however, profiting from animal suffrage.

Last yet not least, Greek yogurt and three times more fats than any other yogurt item. Which we all know causes our body to produce from said fats, cholesterol, and heart issues. This is why I am questioning how these Greek Yogurt products are still on the market – Oh, yeah, that’s right. Profit.

People Don’t Want To Work

People don’t want to work, they are claiming working anywhere doesn’t pay a living wage. This is false, to be quite frank a majority of jobs do pay a living wage now. Most of them have raised their wages to $20 an hour. People don’t want to work because the Government gave out stimulus checks for three months straight. Now, I know most people spent this stimulus on bills and rent, yet others spent it on frivolous things. Or Bulked buys to sell it at a higher price, screwing everyone else over.
This pandemic has shown the true colors of our nation, the greed, the laziness of people. It needs to stop, a fourth stimulus shouldn’t be approved. People need to get off the couch and work period. The stimulus checks have caused inflation and other problems that a majority of us cannot afford to deal with.

Gas prices up to $4 a gallon, food product price hikes, rent hikes, cost of living even went up. How do you think they’re paying back the loans from the Federal Reserve System? By raising prices and taxes. Businesses are suffering because they too have to pay out more to get products delivered to their stores. And the reason prices are rising, is because people refuse to work. And Truckers are desperately needed to deliver said products.

Warehouse workers are getting paid up to $20 an hour, you start at $16 to $17 an hour. Stay long enough and get that experience you’ll get $20 an hour. Truckers are the same amount of pay, this is plenty to pay bills and rent. In addition to this if you can’t afford food you can get assistance through your local SNAP office. They will even help you get medical insurance, especially, during this pandemic. There is nothing wrong with asking for assistance when you are working. However, expecting “free” money without consequences is NOT OKAY.

Other jobs with higher pay:
Walmart – $16 to $17
Target – $15 to $17
Lowes – $16 to 20
Home Depot – $15 to $18
Restaurants – $15
All that can equate to $2000 a month, plus the $300 to $600 a month for partial unemployment. This is plenty to live on, for now, it’s plenty to pay rent and bills. The people who honestly need the help are not getting it because everyone else is screwing them over.

Disabled, and veterans, as well as the homeless, need the help. I am honestly tired of this situation, of seeing abled body people sit there and collect, and then demand in a “petition” another stimulus while not caring about the consequences of their actions. Just because you got laid off doesn’t mean you stop working or even looking for a job. You work something else until that particular business comes back again and you go back there. It’s not a difficult concept.

I do understand the struggle, I am not writing this lightly either. I have been in everyone’s shoes of not being able to afford rent, mortgage, or bills. So has my friend, who also writes in this journal. We all have struggled throughout the years, we have all lost and had to start over. Yet we continued to pull ourselves back up and rebuild. We went out there and worked, or started our own home business, just to make ends meet. Robbed Peter to pay Paul or Tom, Dick and Harry. Whichever the case maybe we still got out there and “Worked”.

Yet I must stress this issue, Asking for another stimulus will not do any good. It will cause more inflation, it will cause more businesses to close down, due to lack of employees. No employees, means no services, meaning business shuts down. However, everyone is screaming open up the businesses, well business can’t be open if they have no one to run or operate them.

People forgot that it takes people to operate stores and truck deliveries. The populace, or should I say this era of people is causing bills for the future generation. Just as the past generation caused for everyone. If more money is loaned out from the Federal Reserve System, there will be nothing left to retire on and no one will be collecting social security either. Because it will be all gone, this is a fact.

If you want all this inflation gone and the economy to get back on track, then people need to work. If you need two jobs, then work two jobs. Unfortunately, money does make the world go round and our livelihood does depend on it.

Let’s get back to work America, let’s build everything back up again.
